Because of Willie's leadership of the Northampton Board of Supervisors to create a tax reduction, Bayshore Concrete was able to keep over 50 jobs and create 300 more jobs.
Commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army, Willie served with the VXIII Airborne Corps in the First Gulf War. He retired as a Major and was awarded the Bronze Star.
Willie started an Edward Jones Financial Services Branch in 1997 and grew it to over $180,000,000 in assets under management.
Willie served as a member of the Broadwater Board of Directors and the Virginia State University Board of Visitors. While Chairman of the Northampton County Board of Supervisors, Willie led the effort to establish universal pre-K for all four-year olds in Northampton County
Willie has served on the Riverside Shore Memorial Board of Trustees, the Accomack/Northampton Transportation Commission, as Chairman of the Eastern Shore United Way and as Chairman of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce.
