Please explain in a total of 75 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- I plan to focus on the following priorities:Education is the key to not only our children's successes but the success of our state in our ability to attract new companies and businesses by having a well trained local workforce. The State of Delaware has engaged in recent changes to our educational focus with the implementation of statewide testing, a three tier diploma and accountability for students and teachers. These programs are proving to have some problems that need to be fully examined before total implementation.Affordable and accessible health care is an area that touches the lives of all citizens. The increase in the numbers of older citizens in our area will necessitate new resources and services by the state and we will need to meet this demand with proactive measures that include transportation, home care assistance and help with prescription drug costs. Medical care for this aging population will also be critical with the need for nurses and other medical personnel increasing in the future.
