Thomas West is a Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 49. West was first elected to the chamber in 2016. West is running for re-election in the primary on May 8, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.

West serves on the Canton City Council. He is the Annexation Chairman and a member of the Capital Improvement Committee, Special Improvement District and Canton Community Improvement Corporation. West received his masters in social work administration and a bachelors in social work from the University of Akron.
