Theresa Mah is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 2. Mah was first elected to the chamber in 2016. Mah is running for re-election in 2018. The primary election took place on March 20, 2018. The general election is being held on November 6, 2018.
Theresa Mah was born and lives in Chicago, Illinois. She earned a bachelor's degree in history from University of California, Berkely in 1991 and her Ph.D. in U.S. social and cultural history, race and ethnicity, Asian American history from the University of Chicago in 1999. Mah's career experience includes working as the senior policy advisor for Pat Quinn, director of development for the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, and an adjunct professor in Asian American studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Mah is the first Asian American to serve in the Illinois House of Representatives as the State Representative for District 2.
