Grayson was a Green Party candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 8th Congressional District of Arizona in 2016. Grayson withdrew from the race prior to the primary.
Grayson was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the At-large Congressional District of Wyoming. The name of Grayson's campaign committee was "PPLZ 4 GRAYSON CREW." He told Business Insider that he chose the name because he was running as a "hip hop candidate." He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 19, 2014. Richard Grayson lost the general election on November 4, 2014.
He was a 2012 Americans Elect candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 4th Congressional District of Arizona.
He was also a 2012 Green Party candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 8th Congressional District of Arizona. He was defeated in the special election primary on April 17, 2012.
