Rangel was a 2016 Democratic candidate for District 43 of the Florida House of Representatives. He was also a 2016 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 9th Congressional District of Florida. He dropped out of the race in May 2016.
Rangel is a former Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 43 from 2012 to 2014.
