1. Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions?
- No
2. Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees?
- No
3. Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients?
- No
4. An income tax increase on any tax bracket?
- Yes
5. Other or expanded principles
- Arizona has not been a responsible steward of state revenues. For many years the state has given tax breaks to corporations while simultaneously slashing the budget for public schools. Additionally, Arizona has traditionally relied upon sales taxes, like prop 301, to subsidize public school funding. Sales taxes disproportionately burden those with lower incomes. The state should explore alternatives that more appropriately share the responsibility of funding state services across all earners. For example, increasing income tax on the highest income earners and/or taxing digital goods/services.
1. Do you support any limits on campaign contributions to state candidates?
- Yes
2. Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?

- Yes
3. Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
- No
4. Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
- No
5. Other or expanded principles
- I do not support mandatory capital punishment in any circumstance. However, I do believe that for a very specific, very narrow range of criminal acts (multiple murder, murder of a police officer while on duty, acts of terrorism) capital punishment should be an option for the judge/jury to consider.I support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes. However, I believe that the age of consent should be 21-25 years.
1. Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
- Yes
2. Do you support lowering state taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
- No
3. Do you support reducing state government regulations on the private sector?
- No
4. Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits?

6. Do you support an increase of the minimum wage of Arizona?

7. Should local governments be permitted to impose restrictions on plastic bag use by local retailers?
- Yes
8. Other or expanded principles
- States have a responsibility to ensure that the private sector is operating in the best interests of the public and the consumer. In order to carry out this responsibility a certain amount of regulation is required (licensing, workplace safety evaluations, background checks in childcare industry). Unemployment benefits can help people transition out of poverty and obtain the skills needed to find long term employment.

- Yes
3. Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from Arizona high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
- Yes
4. Do you support increasing funding for the state education budget?
- Yes
5. Other or expanded principles
- I agree with adopting federal standards but states should greatly reduce the amount of mandated standardized testing and there should be an increased flexibility in determining how states meet any proposed standard.Charter schools are public schools and should be funded with public dollars. However, Arizona should reevaluate the rules regarding transparency and accountability for our charter schools so that they more closely resemble the rules and requirements for traditional district schools.

1. Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
- Yes
2. Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
- Yes
3. Should teachers be allowed to bring guns into the classroom?
- No
4. Should a license be required for gun ownership?
- No
5. Other or expanded principles
- I support a system of comprehensive background checks for all gun purchases for two reasons. First, a system of required background checks would make it incrementally more difficult for a prohibited possessor to purchase a firearm. Second, a system of required background checks may protect the law abiding citizen from unknowingly selling a firearm to someone who means to do harm with it.

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- 1. Appropriate funding for K-12 district schools. Providing this funding would require reexamining out tax structure and reviewing all existing tax exemptions, deductions, and credits to identify and repeal those that are not stimulating the economy in a meaningful way. 2. Access to quality affordable healthcare. Protect medicaid expansion (and KidsCare) in Arizona3. Gun safety and responsible gun ownership legislation
