Philip Cortez (b. July 7, 1978) is a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 117. Cortez was first elected to the chamber in 2016. Cortez is running for re-election in 2018. The primary election took place on March 6, 2018. The general election is being held on November 6, 2018.
Cortez previously represented state House District 117 from 2013 to 2015.
Cortez earned his B.S. in political science and his M.S. in Public Administration from the University of Texas, San Antonio in 2002 and 2007, respectively.
