Incumbent Napoleon Bracy Jr. was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Wayne Biggs was unopposed in the Republican primary. Bracy then defeated Biggs and Darren L. Flott (I) in the general election. Flott initially filed to run as a Democratic candidate but was removed from the ballot in March. He filed to run again as an Independent.
