Mike Holmes is a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 31. He was first elected to the chamber in a special election on January 28, 2014. Holmes is running for re-election in the primary on June 5, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Holmes was a district-level delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention from Alabama. He was one of 13 delegates from Alabama bound by state party rules to support Ted Cruz at the convention. Holmes earned his B.S. in physical sciences from Troy State University. Holmes' professional experience includes working in the agribusiness industry, and as a salesman, timber farmer, business owner and CEO.
