Michael J. Hough (b. November 4, 1979) is a Republican member of the Maryland State Senate, representing District 4. He was first elected to the chamber in 2014. Hough is running for re-election in the primary on June 26, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Hough served in the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 3B from 2011 to 2015. Hough served as assistant minority leader in his final two years in the House.
Hough earned his A.A. in Applied Sciences from Community College of the Air Force in 2002 and his B.S. in political science from Towson University in 2007. His professional experience includes working as a legislative aide and campaign manager for former Maryland state senator Alex Mooney and Director of the Commerce, Insurance, and Economic Development and the Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Task Forces for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). He served as a Minuteman III Missile Technician in the U.S. Air Force.
