2014

Eggman's campaign website listed the following issues:

  • The Central Valley: "I grew up here. I went to Turlock High School, played football on Friday nights and worked on the family farm. And when I attended Fresno State, I came home on the weekends to help my parents work the farm. Today I am running the family farm. No one needs to tell me or other farmers in the Valley that times are hard."
  • Energy & the Environment: "We need to break the Washington mindset that tells us we need to choose between protecting our natural resources and growing our economy. Here in the Valley, we know that renewable energy and common sense laws to protect our air and water are critical to creating jobs and increasing prosperity. We have the resources we need to power our economy here at home."
  • Medicare & Social Security: "I will fight for greater fiscal responsibility and work across party lines towards a balanced budget. But I will never vote to balance our budget on the backs of our seniors. Our seniors have worked hard for decades, building the country we enjoy today and paying into Medicare and Social Security so that they could retire with dignity and security."
  • Education: "I am a proud product of local public schools where I attended Turlock High School and went onto Fresno State. But now it’s time for our schools to move into the 21st century. Our schools need the necessary resources to attract quality teachers, reduce class sizes and modernize our classrooms."
  • Immigration: "I support comprehensive immigration reform that includes a path to citizenship for otherwise law-abiding residents, ensures that farmers and agri-business have the access to labor they need, increases Visas for highly-skilled workers to give American business access to skilled labor here at home, penalizes businesses and contractors that knowingly hire undocumented workers and better secures our border to eliminate illegal trafficking and keep dangerous criminals out of our country."
