Robertson last sought public office in 2012 when he ran on the Democratic ticket for the Arkansas House of Representatives, District 33.
Robertson earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture. He went on to receive his M.S. from the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. He has been the sole principal of the firm MESA Landscape Architects, Inc. since 2006.
Robertson ran for election to the office of Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands. He was uncontested for the Democratic nomination in the May 20 primary election. The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
