Linda Chapa LaVia (b. August 16, 1966) is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 83. Chapa LaVia was first elected to the chamber in 2002. Chapa LaVia is running for re-election in 2018. The primary election took place on March 20, 2018. The general election is being held on November 6, 2018.
LaVia earned her B.A. from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1991. Her professional experience includes owning a small business and working as a real estate broker. She served in the United States Army from 1987 to 1991 and the Illinois National Guard from 1991 to 1996.
