Kent Smith

Kent Smith is a Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 8. Smith was first elected to the chamber in 2014. Smith is running for re-election in the primary on May 8, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Smith served on the Euclid School Board from 2001 to 2013.
Smith earned his B.S. from Miami University in 1988 and his M.S. in Urban Studies from Cleveland State University in 2001. His professional experience includes working in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors Office from 2004 to 2012 and co-authoring the book Please God Save Us.

Priority Issues:
I will work to expand economic opportunities for all Ohioans while fighting to protect voters' rights, women's rights and workers' rights. I believe increased investment for all levels of education (Pre-K to College) is critical to Ohio's future. I believe we should grow clean energy/green energy projects and not hold them back.
