Karen McConnaughay is a Republican member of the Illinois State Senate, representing District 33. McConnaughay was first elected to the chamber in 2012. McConnaughay is running for re-election in 2018. The primary election took place on March 20, 2018. The general election is being held on November 6, 2018.
McConnaughay attended College of DuPage. She was chairman of the Kane County Board from 2004 to 2012 and chairman of the Northeastern Illinois Regional Water Supply Planning Group.
