Jim Durkin (b. January 28, 1961) is a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 82. Durkin was first appointed to the chamber in 2006. Durkin is running for re-election in 2018. The primary election took place on March 20, 2018. The general election is being held on November 6, 2018.

Durkin currently serves as House minority leader. He was elected to the post in August 2013 after Tom Cross stepped down from leadership. He previously served as assistant minority leader. He served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1995 to 2002.

Durkin earned his B.S. from Illinois State University in 1984 and his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 1989. His professional experience includes working as an Attorney with Pretzel & Stouffer, Limited, Assistant Cook County States Attorney, and Assistant Illinois Attorney General.
