Jean Farmer-Butterfield is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 24. Farmer-Butterfield is running for re-election in the primary on May 8, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
She was first elected to the chamber in 2002. Farmer-Butterfield has served as a Majority Whip since 2006.
Farmer-Butterfield earned her B.A. and her M.A. from East Carolina University. She also did advance study at the School of Law at NCCU as well as North Carolina State University towards a Doctorate in Administration and Supervision. Her professional experience includes working as a consultant and health and human services professional.
