Colorado Public Utilities Commission (2014 - 2017)
Vaad was appointed by Gov. Hickenlooper (D) in December 2013 to fill a vacancy on the state public utilities commission. He took office on January 7, 2014, and was subject to senate approval. He retired on January 9, 2017.
Vaad joined the commission to fill an unscheduled vacancy left by James Tarpey, who resigned in November 2013, less than one year into his second four-year term. Vaad served out the remainder of Tarpey's term, ending in 2017.
