Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I am seeking the office of State Senator because Alaska's government is not working the way it was designed.
It is time for solid common sense leadership that understands how to create jobs, keep jobs, and build better opportunities for our citizens. I have dedicated my life to building family, business and community. I understand these issues through experience, not through abstract theory. I have a track record of responsibility in all of my endeavors, and now I want to bring that proven track record and experience to the state Capitol.
The legislature is spending at unsustainable levels and it is time for them to be held accountable for deficit spending. A government closest to the people governs best and most economically and that principle is integral to reducing state government spending. Government is growing at unprecedented rates and removing decision making from the local levels. As free citizens, in a nation founded on personal responsibility and liberty, it is time to take government back on all levels. Let the State take care of their appropriate business and let the residents be in charge of their own destinies.
It's important to provide opportunities for the young people of our state to find good-paying jobs so they can stay in Alaska. We need to create more private opportunities for jobs, not create more government hurdles to success.
I am running for legislature because I believe in the Alaskan individual spirit. I believe in the job creators, the community builders, I believe in Alaskans. We are the people who can turn our state around. That's why I am running, and I plan to work to earn your trust, your support, and your vote. If elected Senator, I pledge to work with you to turn our state around. Together, we can make a difference.
