In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- I will improve ethics laws in state government. Scandals like Gear-Up and EB-5 show the need for better oversight and conflict of interest laws. I will work for better education funding and programming. The legislature voted to increase funding for teacher pay, but this plan will not keep our teacher pay competitive long term. We also need to focus on enhanced education programming and opportunities for our students. Finally, we need to support the governor's plan to expand Medicaid. Even with the governor's conservative estimates, this plan will save the state money and expand the number of people it serves.
