Hyra, a Fairfax County native and 2000 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, studied aerospace engineering at Virginia Tech. He graduated in 2004 and enrolled in George Mason University School of Law, graduating in 2007. The year before Hyra graduated law school, he joined the law offices of James C. Wray as an associate patent attorney. Hyra left the firm in 2008 to found his own patent law firm, Hyra IP. In 2012, Hyra joined Symbus Law Group as a patent attorney.
