Cliff Bentz (b. January 12, 1952) is a Republican member of the Oregon State Senate, representing District 30. Bentz was first appointed to the chamber on January 8, 2018, to replace former Senator Ted Ferrioli (R), who resigned after being appointed to a regional power commission. Bentz was selected for the position by a vote of county commissioners and courts representing the counties covered by District 30. Bentz is running for re-election in the primary on May 15, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Bentz previously served in the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 60 from 2008 to 2018. He was originally appointed to replace Rep. Tom Butler, who resigned on December 31, 2007. For part of his tenure in the state house, he served as assistant minority leader.
Bentz earned his B.S. from Eastern Oregon State College in 1974 and his J.D. from Lewis and Clark Northwestern School of Law in 1977. His professional experience includes working as an attorney and Partner at Yturri Rose, LLP., as a farmer and as the owner/operator of a real estate business.
