Carl Robinson (Democrat) was a candidate seeking election to the Mississippi House of Representatives to represent District 5. Robinson died following a shooting on July 16, 2019, which officials said was self-inflicted.
Robinson still appeared on the August 6, 2019, primary ballot.

On July 16, 2019, Robinson fatally shot his wife before shooting himself, according to the Marshall County Coroner's Office. The shooting took place at the Williams Medical Clinic in Potts Camp, where his wife worked as a receptionist.
