Priority Issues:

Economic Development

  • Art believes that attracting businesses to Florida will help improve a state that has been hit hard during the recession. Once these businesses choose to locate in Florida, they will need workers from this area to help them stay in business. As someone who has worked for large corporations and has owned his own small business, Art knows what it takes to bring business to this area.
  • Lower Taxes
  • As a business owner and father of two, Art knows the effect that taxes have on families in this community. If elected, he will serve the needs of Floridians by fighting for lower taxes, to reduce their burden on our families.
  • Transportation
  • As a frequent traveler through the district, Art knows which areas need improvement to strengthen our commercial and residential sectors. He understands that the way to improve these areas is through the development of the Kissimmee Municipal Airport and the Poinciana Parkway.
  • Improved Education
  • Education is vital to the future of the State of Florida. Art believes that we should put education back in the hands of parents and teachers. He will fight to give our teachers the freedom of innovation in the classroom to better our children.
  • Smaller Government
  • Many times when government tries to solve one problem, it creates a few more. Art understands that government cannot solve everything and that many times its best to give businesses and Floridians the freedom of innovation to problem solve.
  • Fiscal Responsibility
  • If a business or private citizen spends beyond their means, there are consequences. Art believes that it should be the same with our government. If there is not enough money to spend in our state government, then we should either use our money more efficiently or reduce the items we pay for.
  • Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I have a valuable lifetime of experience to offer. I spent twelve years in the military serving our great country and learned many valuable lessons I continue to use every day. I have a background in finance and understand how it works. I have been a commissioner for the City of Kissimmee for the last 4 years and Vice Mayor for the last two. This experience gives me an understanding of how government works to include budgets, policy, and procedures to serve the needs of the community. Finally, my family and I have lived here for the last 14 years and this is our home. I care very deeply for my community and for Florida. I want to work to help us recover from the recession and to make not only my district, but Florida a better place for everyone to visit, live, work and attend school.

In the following area, on an attached page, or via e-mail, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
    - If elected to the Florida House of Representatives, I have several goals. First, I will advance our state's educational system. Second, I will enhance the economic outlook of Floridians. Third, I will develop the transportation of Osceola County by building the Poinciana Parkway and surrounding roadways, as well as expanding the Kissimmee Municipal Airport. Finally, I will fight for fiscal responsibility and low taxes.
