Timothy O. "Tim" Schaffer (b. January 25, 1963) is a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 77. Schaffer is running for re-election in the primary on May 8, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Schaffer served in the Ohio State Senate, representing District 31 from 2006 to January 5, 2015. He previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007.
Schaffer was ineligible to run for re-election to the Senate in 2014 because of term-limits. He instead ran for District 77 in the Ohio House of Representatives and was elected to the seat.
Schaffer earned his B.A. in political science and communications from Mount Union College in 1985. His professional experience includes working as the director of public relations for the Ohio Grocers Association from 1988 to 1989, as vice president/public affairs for the American Diabetes Association, Ohio Affiliate, from 1989 to 1993 and as the executive director for the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers since 1993.
