Policy Positions

California Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Abortion

1. Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
- Pro-life

2. Other or expanded principles
- I support pro-life legislation. That does not mean that birth control devices should not be available to women and men. However, government tax dollars should not go directly or indirectly for abortion. I further believe that men have to also take responsibility in the relationship and that men should be educated in their formative years to recognize their responsibility to women and, potentially, any child that results from their relationship. If a child is the result, he should consider marriage for the stability of the child's home. If he does not want the responsibility, he should not have the relationship.

Budget

1. In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
- No

2. In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- The larger the tax, the larger the government. Corporations do not pay income tax. The end user of the product does. If taxes are lowered, competition is created by lower product prices to the end user. Since more of the product can now be sold at a lower price, a higher volume of product is needed. To create a higher product volume, capital expansion and hiring more employees is necessary. WOW! I do not believe that the budget should be balanced on the shoulders of our military. I do believe that we should increase audits for waste, fraud and duplication.

Campaign Finance

1. Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- I have gathered petition signatures to prevent the ability of government sector unions from directing union member funds to political campaigns. The government union cycle is destructive to the taxpayer and union members. Funds are directed to political campaigns from union member's dues whether they support the candidate or not.The government meets to negotiate higher remuneration packages for their government union employees. The higher remuneration packages create higher dues that once again go to the politician's campaign treasuries. The cycle increases the future taxes of the citizens and jeopardizes the financial futures of our parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, etc..

Economy

1. Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
- No

2. Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
- Yes

3. Other or expanded principles
- Federal spending can only create a spike in economic activity. No capital is created because it is spending our taxes or increasing our debt, the well eventually runs dry with financial ruin for its citizens. As I wrote earlier, corporations don't pay income tax. The end user of the product does. If taxes are lowered, competition is created by lower product prices to the end user. Since more of the product can now be sold at a lower price, a higher volume of product is needed. To create a higher product volume, capital expansion and hiring more employees is necessary.

Education

1. Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- I believe that our Constitution passes the responsibility for education onto the shoulders of our States.I believe that block grants should be given to each State to be used for education at a local level as they see fit.I also believe that each child could be given an education voucher to be used by the parent to find the best education for their child.I do not believe in Common Core.

Energy & Environment

1. Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
- No

2. Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- I do not believe that the government should pick 'winners and losers' by subsidizing companies in this area. This does not mean that I object to government research in environmental sciences. I have read about the failures in Europe, especially Germany.Right now, we have a Hawaiian volcano and others shooting millions of tons of ash, gas and noxious fumes into our atmosphere. I am of the opinion that some government regulation could be justified but between the effects of our sun and our volcanoes, I do not think that man is the primary mover in polluting our environment.

Guns

1. Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- We already have gun-control legislation. It merely needs to be enforced.Unfortunately, we have recently had some tragic mass killings. The emotional cry is to do something about the guns and raise the legal age to buy guns. However, to attack millions of law abiding gun owners because of the actions of a few is wrong. Is there another answer?According to the FDA?s MedWatch reporting system for drug side effects, over a 10-year period, the FDA received 1,531 cases of homicidal ideation/homicide attributed to psychiatric drugs, 40% of which were reported by medical professionals. (See article at https://www.cchrint.org/2017/10/10/another-mass-shooting-another-psychiatric-drug/)

Health Care

1. Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
- Yes

2. Other or expanded principles
- Remember - - - "You have to pass the bill in order to find out what's in it." Remember - - - Jonathan Gruber - See YouTube's: All of #Grubergate in Two Minutes. This was a very poorly designed and non-transparent law that sucked wealth from the middle class to subsidize insurance premiums of millionaires. It only focused on one's income, not on the wealth of the subsidized insured. Some had millions in real estate yet were subsidized by the middle class. It forced you to pay for other's insurance premiums or be subjected to penalties.

Immigration

1. Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
- Yes

2. Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
- Yes

3. Other or expanded principles
- I also support the demise of California's unconstitutional 'Sanctuary State' Senate Bill 54 aka California Values Act. This state law causes great conflict for all Californians. It 'blesses' illegal alien criminal's release from jail and allows them back into our neighborhoods and schools rather than turning them over to ICE for deportation. A poll of 1098 California residents by the Institute of Governmental Studies at UC Berkeley showed that 74.8% Asians, 75.0% Blacks, 64.7% Latinos and 79.5% Whites strongly oppose 'Sanctuary City' policies. I call them the 'Silent Majority of Californian Voters.'I respect them and will defend them.

Marijuana

1. Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- Although I did vote to approve usage of 'medical' marijuana, I did not vote for 'recreational' use of the plant.I have not concluded if long term usage is harmful to the human body. I have only read one Italian study that did seem to indicate that long term use can lead to harmful effects. If I am elected, I would request for a National Institute of Health and FDA study to see if there are long term harmful effects on the human body and if it is, in fact, a gateway to deeper drug use.

National Security

1. Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
- Yes

2. Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- President Theodore Roosevelt said, "Speak softly but carry a big stick."President Donald Trump doesn't speak softly but does carry a big stick and knows how to use both regarding North Korea's nuclear threat to our California Coast. You have to give him credit if all attend June's Taiwan peace meeting. We have spent too much 'military treasure' and money on other county's wars. No more U.S. military casualties or disabilities for the Middle East.

Administrative Priorities

Please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- 1.) Resolution of unconstitutional Federal law versus California Sanctuary State law conflict.2.) The Federal government owns 900,000 square miles of 10 Western state. I propose a feasibility study to see if 100 square miles of habitable land can be set aside for homeless and disabled vets to build 'small home' villages by vets, for vets and run by vets. The villages must be near VA hospitals/clinics and VA Administrative Centers so that vets can be transported for their needs.3.) Social Security Disability insolvent = 3 years, SS Retirement = 15 years. Shrink government, apply savings, more later.
