New Hampshire's seventh state senate district is represented by Republican Senator Harold F. French.

To fill a Senate or House vacancy, a town or city in the district must first make a formal request to the governor and executive council for a special election. The governor and council will approve or deny the request within 21 days and then set the filing deadline and election dates.
Elections for the office of New Hampshire State Senate will take place in 2020. The general election will be held on November 3, 2020. A primary is scheduled for September 8, 2020. The filing deadline is June 12, 2020.
