Mississippi's hundred and second state house district is represented by Republican Representative Missy Warren McGee.

Mississippi legislators assume office the first day of the regular session of the year following election. After the governor sets the election date, the counties conducting the election must be given at least 40 days notice before the election. All qualifying deadlines are 30 days before the election.
No special election is held if the vacancy happens after June 1st in an election year.

A special election for the position of Mississippi House of Representatives District 102 was called for September 12, 2017. A runoff election was held on October 3, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 24, 2017.
The seat became vacant in June 2017 after Toby Barker (R) was elected as the mayor of Hattiesburg.
