Treasurer of Wyoming (2012 - 2019)

Gordon was first appointed the treasurer of Wyoming by Gov. Matt Mead (R) in 2012 following the death of the former state treasurer, Joe Meyer (R). He left the office in 2019 to become the governor of Wyoming.

Gordon was first appointed on November 26, 2012, to fill the remainder of the term from the previous incumbent, Joseph Meyer, who passed away on October 7, 2012. Gordon was elected to a four-year term in 2014. He left the office in 2019 when he bcecame governor of Wyoming.
