Trujillo earned her associate degree in early childhood education from Green River Community College, her bachelor's degree in public administration from Evergreen State College, and her J.D. from the Seattle University School of Law. Her professional experience includes working as an attorney, as a deputy at the State Records Center and Archives, as a teacher for Head Start, as an AmeriCorps program manager, and for ACCION New Mexico.
