Reason for Seeking Public Office:
For the last twenty-four years I have served as the president and CEO of the Alabama Policy Institute (API), a research and education organization whose purpose is to identify, develop and promote sound public policies that emphasize a limited government, free markets, the rule of law and strong families. As a founder of the Alabama Policy Institute, I've worked with leaders at all levels to hold down taxes, eliminate waste and inefficiency, bring more transparency and integrity to state and federal government, and bring about historic education reform.
And so I have decided to run for Congress.
