If Sen. Bernie Sanders and his supporters thought they got screwed over during the 2016 election, they're really not going to like what the establishment has planned this time around.

A brutal new campaign ad from Democratic Majority for Israel not only claims Sanders is "unelectable," it also attacks the Vermont Senator for suffering a heart attack a few months ago.

The ad, which is set to air in Iowa this week, literally implies that Iowans shouldn't vote for Sanders because he could die before he ever has the chance to take on President Donald Trump in a general election.

The ad, entitled “Electable," begins by attacking Sanders over his far-left policy positions but places the heart attack he suffered late last year while on the campaign trail in Las Vegas, Nevada, front and center.

The ad features six Iowa Democrats who explain why they won’t be voting for Sanders, despite agreeing with him on some issues. 

Most reference Sanders’ inability to best Trump in key states where more moderate Democrats reside — Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Florida, for example — but others zero in on Sanders’ age and health.

“I like Bernie, I think he has great ideas, but in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Iowa, they’re just not going to vote for a socialist,” one voter admits. “I just don’t think Bernie can beat Trump.”

“I do have some concerns about Bernie Sanders’s health considering the fact that he did have a heart attack,” adds another.

Back in October, Sanders was forced to undergo emergency heart surgery to clean out a blocked artery. 

He was forced to cancel all of his campaign events for nearly a week.

At the time, Sanders' Senior Advisor Jeff Weaver broke the news in a statement:

During a campaign event yesterday evening, Sen. Sanders experienced some chest discomfort. Following medical evaluation and testing he was found to have a blockage in one artery and two stents were successfully inserted. Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days. We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.

While Republicans do not want to see Bernie as president, most would never stoop as low as Democrats did in that attack ad.
