Duane Ankney (b. April 14, 1946) is a Republican member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 20. Ankney was first elected to the chamber in 2014. Ankney is running for re-election in the primary on June 5, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Ankney served in the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 43 from 2007 to 2015.
Ankney's professional experience includes working as a plant foreman at Spring Creek Coal and mail foreman at Central Feeds; he also worked for the Western Energy Company. Ankney served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1969.

- My top priority would be to write and support legislation that will help save good jobs and create new jobs in Montana. I see these new jobs being created in the natural energy area.
Working on the budget. Hopefully in a bipartisan manner to cut our spending to match income. Just as families throughout Montana have to do in tough times.
By the end of the 62nd session I would hope to leave with the knowledge that we have maintained a budget that support our K-12 system and at the same time leaves a business climate where new jobs (...)
