Al Sharpton Orders NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell To Give Kaepernick His Job Back
June 10, 2020It is beginning to look like Colin Kaepernick may once again have a job in the National Football League, at least of the Reverend Al Sharpton has any say in the matter.
Sharpton showed up at the final day of George Floyd's funeral services after the man who was killed by a rogue cop was given a national farewell tour befitting of a head of state.
During the eulogy which was hijacked by Sharpton, the longtime civil rights activists and MSNBC employee ordered NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to give the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback his job back.
According to Reverend Sharpton:
“Give Colin Kaepernick a job back. Don’t come with some empty apology. Take a man’s livelihood. Strip a man down of his talents. And four years later, when the whole world is marching, all of a sudden...talk about you sorry.“
The demand was directed at Goodell, who rushed to issue a groveling apology for the NFL's prior treatment of players who disrespected the American flag and those who sacrificed all for it in honor of Kaepernick in 2017, a season marred by political controversy and plummeting television ratings.
But simply apologizing just isn't going to be enough.
Via Yahoo Sports, "Al Sharpton to NFL at George Floyd's funeral: 'Don't apologize, give Colin Kaepernick a job back'":
Rev. Al Sharpton delivered the eulogy for George Floyd at his funeral in Houston on Tuesday.
During his speech, he took the time to call out the NFL for its treatment of Colin Kaepernick.
Sharpton delivered a direct response to commissioner Roger Goodell’s mea culpa on Friday that the NFL was “wrong” to discourage players who peacefully protested police brutality and social injustice against black people.
Sharpton didn’t call for Goodell to mention Kaepernick. He called for the NFL to give him his job back following a three-year absence from the league.
“It’s nice to see some people change their minds,” Sharpton said. “The head of the NFL said, ‘Yeah, maybe we was wrong. Football players — maybe they did have the right to peacefully protest.’ Well don’t apologize, give Colin Kaepernick a job back.”
The line drew a standing ovation from some in attendance at Houston Memorial Gardens.
“Don’t come with some empty apology, take a man’s livelihood,” Sharpton continued. “Strip a man down of his talents and four years later when the whole world is marching, all of the sudden you go and do a FaceTime talking about you sorry. Minimizing the value of our lives.
“You sorry, then repay the damage you did to the career you stood down. Because when Colin took a knee, he took it for the families in this building. And we don’t want an apology. We want him repaired.”

In addition to the commissioner's apology and appeal to the kneelers, superstar New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees dared to utter the blasphemy that the flag should be respected and was ripped to shreds, spurring a humiliating reversal that amounted to begging for mercy, an ominous sign of things to come.
With the scheduled kickoff for the upcoming season now only three months away, there is no way that the league is going to be able to prevent national anthem kneeling and is getting dangerously close to officially accusing millions of fans of being racists.
Goodell was mistaken if he believes that his immediate surrender and virtue signaling would appease the mob and avoid another calamity in 2020 and Shapton just ensured that there will be hell to pay of Kaepernick isn't drawing a paycheck from the NFL this year.
