Margaret Doherty is a Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 35. Doherty was first appointed to the chamber on September 21, 2009, to replace Representative Larry Galizio, who resigned. Doherty is running for re-election in the primary on May 15, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Doherty earned her bachelor's degree in Speech Communications/Theater from Portland State University and her master's degree from Lewis and Clark College. Her professional experience includes being the owner of a Floral Design Business and a retired teacher from Milwaukie High School. Doherty is a consultant for the Oregon Education Association and member of the Tigard Planning Commission.
