- My first priority is to establish term limits for senators and delegates. The powers of incumbency make it virtually impossible to be elected unless an open seat is available. By infusing our legislature with new thoughts and fresh ideas, we can begin to grow the state economically and in population. I propose to limit legislators to eight years in the House of Delegates and eight years in the Senate. Legislators could serve consecutively in each house. After serving the maximum terms, a legislator should have to sit out one term.
