In the following area, on an attached page, or via e-mail, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- 1. Overhaul Vermont's tax/revenue system to bring it in line with a dynamic economy and current realities. The present system is a concoction decades old and no longer fully functional.2. Overhaul property taxes used for public education. Act 60/68 performs as designed but does not provide sufficient revenue to schools where personal income is so low that voters cannot raise adequate funds to provide quality education. Additional state funding will be required. Ideally funding will come from revenue achieved by accomplishing priority 1 above.3. Devise and implement an equitable way to fund Green Mountain/ single payer health care.
