Murphy earned her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, and M.A. in Organizational Leadership/Healthcare from the College of Saint Catherine. Her professional experience includes working as Executive Director of the Minnesota Nurses Association; Legislative Director to Minnesota Attorney General Hubert Humphrey III; Community Relations Director for the Minnesota Department of Children, Families and Learning; an Organizer/Lobbyist for the Minnesota Nurses Association; and an Operating Room Nurse at the University of Minnesota Hospital.
