Ebony Turner was born in Hope, Arkansas. Turner earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 and a J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 2001. Her career experience includes working as a criminal defense attorney, owner of a private practice, legislative attorney, public defender, parole attorney, and adjunct professor. Turner has been affiliated with the L. Clifford Davis Legal Association, the Tarrant County Bar Association, the Dallas Black Criminal Bar Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Unbound, and the Historic West Mansfield Texas Community Development Corporation, of which she has served as president.
