Brian Stewart is a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 89. He was first appointed to the chamber on October 1, 2013. Stewart is also a Republican candidate for District 45 of the Illinois State Senate. The primary election is being held on March 20, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.

Brian Stewart was born in Freeport, Illinois. He graduated from Freeport High School. Stewart served in the army from 1975 to 1978. His career experience includes working as the Stephenson County sheriff's deputy and as a business executive for over 20 companies. He has served as a public safety committeeman, the vice chairman of Community Development, and the chairman of the Northwest Illinois Criminal Justice Commission. Stewart was appointed to serve as the state representative in October 2013.
