In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- Public education, including healthcare and defined pension benefits for teachers, should be funded at a level expected of a state as prosperous as Texas. This can be achieved by closing tax loopholes-especially property taxes-enjoyed by corporations and big business. The burden should not fall on the average Texas homeowner. Access to healthcare for the most vulnerable Texans can be expanded by accepting Federal Medicaid funding-our taxes that we should reclaim. All Texans-regardless of race, sex, religion, place of birth or sexual orientation should be treated equally under the law.
